Project Vision
Warmth has long been used for its therapeutic benefits. Supported by research it is one of the most powerful tools to support the entire physical, mental, and energetic system in the most natural way for women*. The moon-pad embodies these benefits – to balance one’s mood, stress & anxiety and enhance women’s overall wellbeing through a multisensory experience. The perfect complement to your meditation, morning or evening ritual.
Challenges
- Explain product that does not exist yet visually
- Visualization of the 5 senses
Kick-Off
Before the Kick-Off we as a team already knew the end-users of the future: women. As a woman myself the moon-pad would definitely be something I would use. But I had to understand how it works in order to visually explain it. The client provided me with the prototype and explained it to me in multiple sessions. It was also important to include the developer as soon as possible to know if and how we could implement my ideas for the up-coming challenges.
01 How does the product work?
The moon-pad works as a smart and super slim heat-pad you can wear between slip and belly, which is rechargeable.
02 How is the moon-pad connected to the 5 senses?
The idea is to launch other products in the future related to the 5 senses. The moon-pad itself represents the sense of Touch.
Via a sign-up to the newsletter it should be possible to stay up to date and pre-order the product.

Moodboard & Wireframing
The sitemap was created by the project manager and the next step for me was to create wireframes. As one of my first projects and new to the process I designed the wireframes on paper.

During the process I already wrote down my ideas for the design. Femble’s Pinterest channel and their instagram gave me a good insight in their taste & unofficial branding.
Moon-Pad Visualization & Animation
I was provided photos of the moon-pad photo-type, which I used an orientation for the minimal visualization. I created it with Adobe Illustrator & it would be later animated by our developer.

First I made some sketches on paper. After that I made several graphics via Illustrator and display options for the website.
Graphic Design
For the website I also designed some „Icons“ / Graphics with Adobe Illustrator for the visual undertone of femble’s philosophy & message.

The graphics had to be as minimal as possible. I tried to imitate a pen-styled graphic as it fitted their brand.
Challenge 1
Visual Product Explanation
Description
The moon-pad was in it’s photo-type phase. We had to introduce a product that had not yet existed. There were photos of the proto-type and a lot of technological explanation behind it.
Solution
In order to explain the product I had the idea of creating a interactive graphic. After visualizing the moon-pad at a very minimal level, it would be shown how and where the moon-pad is used.
Challenge 2
Visualization of 5 senses
Description
Besides the moon-pad there are plans to release more products related to well-being & the 5 senses: Sight, Touch, Smell, Taste & Hear. But how do you visualize 5 senses that are connected to each other?
Solution
I came up with the idea to use moodboards which are connected via a path (line) to communicate the 5 senses and their connection. For femble we did use their Pinterest-Boards, which were already dedicated to the 5 senses.
